Possible Meanings
The most popular interpertation of this song is that there is a plauge of zombies that takes over a town. They devour everything in their wake. A motercyclist is trapped in the mists of it, desperently trying to find her companion. She then is able to find her at the school she attends, but is to late to save her- she is already being devoured by the zombies. The motercyclist sees no more reason to stay in town (the only reason she was their previously is to find her companion), and flees.
